The Egg & I + The Butler

This past Sunday (Funday) my Husband and I decided to try out a new spot! I heard several people talk about this place called The Egg & I, so before our movie we thought we’d check it out. It must’ve been the place to be, because everyone was there! You get an opportunity to load up on protein and carbs plus cheese eggs are the BEST! I had a hard time choosing what I wanted because EVERYTHING on the menu seemed great!

I settled with the Wisconsin Scramble. It had 3 cheeses, topped with green onions and served with your choice of bacon or sausage, toast, and can’t forget those Ranch Potatoes–YUMMO!

I also wanted to try their pancakes. By my observance, they were a popular menu item. I asked my server for the smallest pancake they had which is the “baby cake” (pictured above) and it’s HUGE! I wish you could have seen my face. It’s on the thinner side, but it was totally more than what I was expecting.

If you have an Egg & I in your city, you should definitely check it out! Great food and family friendly atmosphere.

Next Stop…the Movies!

I went to the movies to see Fruitvale Station  two weeks prior and I was so excited when I saw the previews for Lee Daniels’ The Butler.  Oprah Winfrey, Jane Fonda, AND John Cusack?! I knew it was going to be a great film! I laughed and cried every single tear I had. The cast was STELLAR and I was riddled with emotion. I encourage EVERYONE to go see it–Powerful! A very heartfelt exhibition of the Civil Rights Era and our American history.

Cutie pie James Marsden as John F. Kennedy. You may remember him from X-Men, Enchanted, and 27 Dresses!

Oprah Winfrey (Gloria Gaines) was excellent alongside Forest Whitaker (Cecil Gaines-the Butler)

I was excited to see Yaya Alafia (previously DaCosta) on the big screen! I’ve been following this beautiful, young lady since her America’s Next Top Model  (ANTM) days. Loved her in this role (activist). She’s expecting her first child with husband and filmmaker, Joshua Alafia.

Watch the Trailer here!

I have quite a few movies on my list to see: Elysium, Jobs, and Mandela, just to name a few! Have you seen any good movies lately? If so, share them in the “Free Your Mind” section!

We Run The Night!

image

OMG! I can’t believe tonight is opening night of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn 2!!!!!! If you could only see my face! STOKED!!! This will be my very first opening night for any Twilight movie. I feel like a teenager and truthfully, me along with some other fan friends, we may be the oldest ones up in that joint! I ain’t shame. lol It’s so funny because I never watched a Twilight movie until last year before the release of Breaking Dawn Part 1. I kept hearing EVERYONE talking about this Bella, Edward, and Jacob so I had to see what the hype was about. I lucked up and caught a marathon/series of all of the Saga. I literally watched them from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. (yes with work the next day). After that I was hooked! I even have the books on NOOK! I can’t wait to see how this last installment unfolds!  *sad face* Yeah and I’m kinda in denial about it being the last one. But either way…

TEAM EDWARD!
